I’ll try to keep it short…

Stage 1.           I was born in New Haven, Connecticut to an Italian-American family (there were lots of us there in those days). I spent my early days in New Haven, where I attended public elementary school and high school. Then I served in the US Army for a couple of years. Later I received a BS degree from the University of Bridgeport (Connecticut). After college I taught in local public schools.

Stage 2.           I earned a PhD in Spanish from the University of Illinois, after which I taught at Wayne State University in Detroit. Later I joined the faculty at Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida as a member of the Foreign Language Department and taught courses in Spanish, Italian and Linguistics. I co-authored a Spanish textbook, Tertulia, and I’ve done many works of translations, especially of the Spanish playwright Antonio Gala. I also established Verano Español, a Spanish language summer program in Madrid, and served as its Director and Coordinator.

Stage 3.           At this point, I’ve left my teaching career behind me and have devoted myself to being a lyricist. I’ve written lyrics for well over 120 songs. A few years ago a musical colleague (Chuck Graham) and I produced a CD, Spirit’s Got Me (you could find it on iTunes under the band’s name, The Holy Cats Band) and we both became members of ASCAP at that time. More recently I’ve had two other CDs placed on iTunes (and Spotify and other venues). One is called Songs from Orlando and the other is a Spanish language album called Un día claro en Orlando. You can find both under the artist name EBorsoi.

I now live in downtown Orlando. My beautiful wife, Louise, recently passed away. My son, Alexander, lives in Orlando and works as a financial analyst. My daughter, Carla, recently moved back to Orlando from San Francisco and does market research and analytics in the tech industry. My son-in-law (Carla's husband) is Jeff Rider, who writes graphic novels. I have two granddaughters, Grace and Vivianne, who are California girls. Otherwise, I’m having fun composing music and writing lyrics.
